The Georgian Theatre Royal is set to appear on BBC's The One Show on Tuesday, 10 December, at 7pm. The feature will delve into the Theatre’s beloved pantomime knitting tradition, focusing on the wonderful knitted ice creams currently making a splash in this year’s pantomime, Treasure Island.
The short film, presented by the acclaimed actress Bonnie Langford, explores the heartwarming community effort behind the knitting phenomenon. Bonnie interviews the dedicated knitters responsible for crafting the ice creams, as well as members of the pantomime’s cast and crew. Audience members also share their thoughts on the knitted creations that have become a star attraction of the Theatre's festive season.
This year, the knitted ice creams have come from far and wide with over 3,000 gorgeous knitted creations taking centre stage.
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to see the Georgian Theatre Royal in the national spotlight! Tune in to The One Show on Tuesday evening (or watch aagain on BBC IPlayer) to learn more about this delightful tradition and the people who bring it to life.
