Rural tales and pub life take centre stage

We are thrilled to announce that The Castle Players will be gracing the stage with their latest production, The Inn at the Top, on Friday 7 March and Saturday 8 March.

This heartwarming play brings to life Neil Hanson's memoir, chronicling the adventures he and his wife Sue experienced while managing the iconic Tan Hill Inn—the highest pub in the British Isles—from 1978 to 1979.

Adapted by Laurence Sach, the narrative follows Neil and Sue as they transition from novices to adept innkeepers, confronting the challenges of a remote setting and a diverse clientele!

A recent review from The Northern Echo describes the production as "a must-see for anyone who has read Hanson's books (or indeed those by James Herriot and Gervase Phinn); well-told and beautifully performed, it is a testament to the resilience and determination of Neil and Sue, and a celebration of the unique and often humorous experiences that come with running a pub in such a remote location."

Tickets costing £15 are available from the Box Office on 01748 825252 or online.
