The Georgian Theatre Royal is gearing up for an exciting new term of Youth Theatre classes, under the leadership of Aimee Shields, the recently appointed Youth Theatre Manager.
Aimee, who has a rich and diverse theatrical background, is returning to the Georgian after three years spent writing and directing plays, lecturing in drama, and completing a Master’s degree in Theatre Studies.
A familiar face at the Georgian, Aimee is keen to bring her wealth of experience back to the theatre’s youth programme. Her practical creative skills and academic work has equipped her with fresh ideas, and she is looking forward to inspiring a new generation of young performers. “I’m thrilled to be returning to such a special place,” Aimee said. “The Georgian Theatre Royal has always been close to my heart, and I’m excited to share my passion for theatre with our students.”
Youth Theatre classes at The Georgian Theatre Royal provide an invaluable opportunity for young people to develop their acting and stagecraft skills in a supportive and creative environment. With weekly classes tailored to different age groups, students will learn everything from improvisation and character development to stage production and teamwork. The programme offers a unique chance to perform in a professional theatre, giving participants both practical experience and a platform to grow their confidence.
