Congratulations to our Finance Officer, Xin Huang, who has received recognition from The Company of Fellmongers of Richmond for an outstanding performance in her apprenticeship.
Xin joined us in September 2021 as part of an apprenticeship scheme run by Darlington College that enabled her to study for an AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting whilst working at the Theatre. She passed this with Distinction and is currently studying for a Level 3 award.
At an award’s ceremony held at the Town Hall on 23 February, Xin was congratulated by The Company of Fellmongers for “the high quality of her work, the diligence displayed during her apprenticeship and the high regard in which she is held by her employer.”
As part of the scheme, Xin spends a day a week in college and then consolidates and expands on this learning back at the Theatre.
“It is a great honour to have been selected for the award,” said Xin. “The apprenticeship scheme enables me to acquire nationally recognised qualifications whilst being in a work environment. I have learnt many new skills that I can apply directly to my job here at the Georgian.
Jo Mawhinney, CEO at the Georgian Theatre Royal, added: “We are all extremely proud of Xin’s achievements. Her work is outstanding, and the Theatre has greatly benefitted from her growing knowledge and experience.”
The Fellmongers Company is an ancient craft and trading company which has its origin in the Middle-Ages and was originally made up of skinners and glovers. It has long since supported the training of good apprentices and celebrates their achievements each year.
Xin is pictured receiving her award from the Master of the Company of Fellmongers, Richard Sands, and the Mayor of Richmond, Ian Woods.
