Theatre hosts three exciting Walking and Book Festival Events

A trio of fascinating book-related talks in one week!

The Theatre is proud to host three events from this year’s Walking and Book Festival which runs from 20-29 September.

The first author event takes place on Monday 23 September when best-selling author Sally Coulthard talks about her latest book ‘A Brief History of the Countryside in 100 Objects’. It reveals the fascinating story of rural Britain told through the often-surprising objects that people have left behind.

On Thursday 26 September, the award-winning biographer Jo Willett explores the life of Sarah Siddons – the first celebrity actress. Siddons grew up poor and often hungry but before she was 30 she became a superstar, battling in a world of vicious satire and gossip.

The final event takes place on Saturday 28 September when the popular storyteller Dominic Kelly tells the tale of Morten, a discharged soldier living on the edge of Sweden’s ancient forest back in 1868. This is a fascinating whodunit that delves into the dreamscape of Swedish folklore.
